Night 17- Night of the Living Dead

They’re coming to get you Barbara,

More like eat you till your dead Barbara. I’d try and run and not slip into a chaotic mess. Oh, you did already? I guess you’ll just have to join our boarded up slumber party and try to find some leftover food in the pantry, cause the world is ending and our movie list is still going on. Sit back and enjoy, Night of the Living Dead.

Night of the Living Dead / Dir. George A. Romero/ 1968

It doesn’t even really need to be said — Night of the Living Dead is the zombie film that began the craze. We all were infected with zombie fever with this late 60’s journey into horror. George A. Romeo would later become known as the Zombie Master with Dawn of the Dead and the ever now popular Day of the Dead. He continued with Land of the Dead and even some weird found footage type thing with Diary of the Dead. Many others would imitate legacy but nothing can even come close to the originals depth and terror. Night of the Living Dead is an essential watch for the Halloween month.
